Mary Kaplan

Mary Kaplan brings a unique combination of legal and financial expertise to her estate planning practice — a background that shapes how she works with clients.

Mary earned her law degree from Emory University School of Law and began her legal career practicing estate planning and probate law in Atlanta. During that time, she also earned a Certified Financial Planner™ designation and worked with Wachovia Wealth Management, helping families navigate complex estate, tax, and charitable giving strategies. That experience gave her something most estate planning attorneys don't have: a deep understanding of the financial side of the equation, not just the legal documents.

Mary has been serving Orlando-area families for more than 15 years, drawing on over 25 years of combined legal and financial planning experience. Her practice focuses on estate planning — including revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, health care surrogates, Lady Bird deeds, and special needs planning — as well as probate, elder law, and Medicaid planning. She takes the time to understand each client';s full picture before recommending a plan, and she believes that good estate planning isn't just about documents. It's about peace of mind.

She is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where she earned her degree in History magna cum laude, and Emory University School of Law. She is a member of the Florida and Georgia Bars and is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Central Florida Estate Planning Council, and the Mid-Florida Guardianship Association.

Originally from North Canton, Ohio, Mary lives in Orlando with her husband, Steve, and their two children, Seth and Paige. Outside of work, she is a certified yoga instructor.
